LEGO 8005 Ice Explorer is a Technic Robo Riders set released in 2000, containing 34 pieces. The model is an ice-themed Robo Rider with a wheel-based build and two ice spears as its main accessories. Like other sets in the Robo Riders theme, it was designed to combine with other models in the range to create larger builds. This set is the same basic model as 1292 Frost Flyer, a Japanese promotional release that was packaged with Kabaya candy.

About Technic Robo Riders

LEGO Robo Riders (RoboRiders) was a TECHNIC theme launched in 2000 that were designed as robotic, anthropomorphic bikes, complete with a faceplate and special gear to suggest adaption to a specific environment. The Robo Riders succeeded Slizer and was replaced by BIONICLE in 2001 with only eight retail and eight promotional sets being released.

Robo Riders was introduced in 2000 and currently consists of 16 sets. As of today, 8516 Super RoboRider is the most valuable Robo Riders set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $120.
