“This marked the first foray in collectible models. Not only were buyers encouraged to "collect them all" in the catalogs, but some parts were random. Each set came with two of the printed throwable discs, but many more variations existed. Discs could be purchased... More separately as a Supplemental Set, but there was no way to know what was inside. To get them all, you were ensured many duplicates as well.”

“The Swamp Roborider is a fantastic set with great compatibility, featuring rare teal katanas and unique lime green elements that truly capture the swamp theme. The wheels are impressive and even launch like other Roboriders, adding to the playability. While the swinging swords don't reach as far forward as expected and the wheel launcher could be improved, the set's overall design, details, and ability to stand on its own make it an excellent addition to any LEGO collection.”
 

About Technic Robo Riders

LEGO Robo Riders (RoboRiders) was a TECHNIC theme launched in 2000 that were designed as robotic, anthropomorphic bikes, complete with a faceplate and special gear to suggest adaption to a specific environment. The Robo Riders succeeded Slizer and was replaced by BIONICLE in 2001 with only eight retail and eight promotional sets being released.

Robo Riders was introduced in 2000 and currently consists of 16 sets. As of today, 8516 Super RoboRider is the most valuable Robo Riders set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $120.
