LEGO 852001 Castle Chess Set is a LEGO Games set released in 2007 as part of the Castle theme and served as the final Castle release of that year. It includes a buildable chessboard and 32 minifigure-based chess pieces representing the opposing Crown Knights and Skeleton Warriors factions. Each side features twelve themed minifigures and sixteen total chess pieces, including royalty, clergy, knights, and soldiers adapted for the game. The white side is led by King Brutus and the Crown Princess, while the black side is commanded by the Evil Wizard and his Dark Mage. The chessboard is constructed from standard LEGO elements in gray and black and doubles as both a playable and displayable structure.
