LEGO Vikings Chess Set (4499577) is a Gear Board Games set released in 2006 featuring 24 minifigures configured as 32 chess pieces. The set depicts opposing Viking factions with exclusive minifigure variants for the rooks, knights, and the good and evil queens, and it is the first LEGO set to include dark blue cloth capes. As stated on the box, some elements are factory-glued: the 4x4 black and white plates forming the squares are affixed to a 32x32 white baseplate, and the rook builds are permanently assembled except for their front shields.

“In my opinion this is the worst of all the Chess sets. Other Chess sets are partly glued as well, but in this case every single minifig was glued. Otherwise, I thought the set was very well executed. The colors were good, the minifigs were great (if you like Vikings) and the... More weapon's selection was decent. The set is expensive but considering the packaging is a re-usable carrying case and the rest is all minifigs, it's reasonable.”
