Like LEGO's other magazines it is made by Blue Ocean, a publisher in Stuttgart, and it began in several European countries in 2015, followed by China in 2016, Latin America in 2017 and Australia in 2018. Each issue has a comic, puzzles, a poster and a LEGO gift, usually a single minifigure with a weapon.

Ninjago Magazine Gifts was introduced in 2015 and currently consists of 196 sets.
