The LEGO Mindstorms NXT 2.0 was released in August 200 and was an upgrade of the original NXT platform that used Floating Point operations whereas earlier versions use Integer operation and also introduced a new Color Sensor.
LEGO Mindstorms is a hardware and software system desigend for the development of programmable robots made out of TECHNIC bricks. The original LEGO Mindstorms Robotics Invention System was born out of a collaboration between MIT and the LEGO group's eductaional division.
