1949 LEGO Sets
1949 was the first official year of the LEGO Group creation of the brick. LEGO, founded by Ole Kirk Christiansen in this year only released a few sets including the two icon wooden LEGO toys the LEGO Tractor and the Wooden Abacus. It was also the first year LEGO released sets with plastic bricks known as the Automatic Binding Brick. Three brick Gift Sets were released in 1949 and most were sold for the next decade under the set number 700s.
