700-1 Gift Package is a set released in 1949, part of the Automatic building bricks line that was manufactured from 1949 through 1965 in continental Europe, and starting in 1960 in Britain and Australia. The set included 84 2x2 and 84 2x4 slotted bricks, 10 each large, medium and small windows, 4 doors and 2 art cards for picture frames. Formally named 700/1, this set was only locally sold in Denmark for NE 13.75.

It was the one of the first LEGO sets ever manufactured from 1949-1965 and only sold in continental Europe. Sold under the theme title of Automatic Binding Bricks, It featured the first LEGO bricks produced.
The large #700 wood box set came 2 different ways, with contents, and empty. In Germany the set that came with contents had a 2 piece Masonite sliding lid that had a Town Plan board on the back side. In most other continental European countries the set only came with a 1 piece lid, without a Town Plan scene.

About Mursten

LEGO Mursten is based on the original Automatic Binding Bricks from 1949. In 1952 the LEGO Group decided that they needed a more descriptive name for their brick sets and added the phrase LEGO Mursten, which translates to 'LEGO bricks' to the existing and new boxes, and in 1953 the sets were renamed simply LEGO Mursten.
