LEGO 10176 King's Castle is a Castle set in the Knights' Kingdom I subtheme released in 2006, containing 869 pieces and 12 minifigures. The build is a large fortress on a rectangular raised baseplate with a central section that includes a blacksmith shop, a king’s throne room, and a wizard’s laboratory, plus a siege cart; it features stickered shields and flags and includes animals such as a rat, birds, a snake, a wolf, a bat, and two horses. The minifigure lineup includes a king, a ghost, two skeletons, and two mounted knights with horses. The set was sold at Costco in 2008 as Royal Castle and draws on earlier Castle designs, notably 6090 Royal Knight’s Castle and Knights’ Kingdom-era 6091 and 6098.

“Lego's US Shop at Home Summer 2006 catalog gives the name as just King's Castle. In the Fall 2006 catalog, the name is finally given as Royal King's Castle, matching the website. And, that same Fall 2006 catalog uses "Knights" instead of "King's" in naming set 6090. But it... More switches the normal order of "Knights" and "Royal" and gives it as Knights' Royal Castle.”

The Castle theme is one of LEGO’s primary themes first introduced in 1978 and based around medieval life with castles and knights. It is currently the third longest-lived theme in LEGO history. Over the years it saw numerous changes thus introducing various fantasy elements.
