“Assembling these in quantity can be quit tedious, these don´t snap like later tracks, so typical brick clutch-power is the only thing holding these together. Another interesting point is that the tips of the blue rails have slight indentations. These may seem odd, but were... More there to allow slight changes in elevation of the track layout.”

About Trains 4.5V / 12V

4512V covers the LEGO trains of the 4.5 V and 12 V systems from the 1970s and 1980s. The 4.5 V trains ran on batteries carried in a wagon or tender, while the 12 V trains drew power from conductor rails laid between the running rails, fed by a transformer with a speed control. Until 1980 the track was blue, which gave these years the name of the Blue Era.

4.5V / 12V consists of 83 sets that ran from 1972 to 1986. As of today, 7750 Steam Engine with Tender is the most valuable 4.5V / 12V set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $6,368.
