Steve's LEGO Blog
“This is a rather odd set, it was released in 1993 and then again in 1998 as part of a promotion for a Japanese candy company (at which point any other Black Knight sets had long since disappeared). We see here a sparse catapult that cannot be moved or turned, so from a... More effectiveness viewpoint it is rather useless.”

Brickset
“This set was released in 1993, although this is described as US only, this could be reached on another countries. This set looks like something with the other King's catapult, like the details of the chainmail on the torso of the minifigure. One difference is that this set... More is described as part of the black knights, and the other, considered as crusader set. But those factions from older castles were very compatible with nice designs of true knights and true Lego minifigures, useful due to the yellow face with details.”

Classic-Castle
“King's Catapult, the second set with this name, was released in the United States in 1994. It is part of Variety Pack 9205. 2890 is the 1998 Kabaya rerelease of the set. This non-mobile catapult comes with one Black Knight's siege worker, various accessories, and stone... More shot.”
