“This set allows you to recreate and bring a structure from the video game to life. LEGO and Minecraft are all about building whatever you want so you can follow the directions to build this desert outpost, or create a completely unique structure.”

“Most of my criticisms for this set have to do with the fact that it's based on the Minecraft license. If you're a fan of the game and the visual style, you can probably ignore those and you will likely enjoy this set. At $60 for 519 pieces, most of them basic bricks, people... More who are more fans of LEGO than the game can safely pass on this one. There's certainly a lot of play potential, but overall the value seems fairly lacking.”

About Minecraft Minifig-scale

The LEGO Minecraft theme is based on the video game Minecraft and a collaboration between Mojang and the LEGO Group. Sets in this theme were all based on the traditional LEGO minifigure scale. Minecraft is a sandbox indie game originally created by Notch (Markus Persson) and later developed and published by Mojang / Microsoft. The official release occurred in 2013 with the first set, Minecraft: Micro World: The Forest, released under LEGO Ideas and was created by Mojang through the LEGO CUUSOO program in 2012. At MineCon 2013, LEGO announced brand new minifigure-scale Minecraft sets.

Minifig-scale was introduced in 2014 and currently consists of 129 sets. As of today, 21137 The Mountain Cave is the most valuable Minifig-scale set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $1,743.

Hostile mobs are spawning like never before, and the desert is becoming a very scary place to be… it’s time to build The Desert Outpost! Help Alex construct the house and lookout tower, build a protective wall and ring the fortress with burning torches. Have the tame wolf stand guard while you craft a bed, table, door, ladder and a boat, then sail out in search of crops to farm within the outpost walls. As darkness falls, silhouettes of approaching skeletons appear on the desert horizon.
