“This set epitomises what the Ideas platform is for, and what it's best at: bringing sets to market that do not fit into LEGO's normal product portfolio. Jason and Grant's excellent idea has been turned into a clever and very attractive set that will have broad appeal,... More although I appreciate that it won't be for everybody. The minifigure selection is the icing on the cake: all four figures are superb and I would suggest better than the idea submitter's could have hoped for. I can't really think of anything negative to say about it. Perhaps printed tiles for the spine would have been nice but other than that it's pretty much perfect.”

“I like the detail and minifigures from the Little Red Riding Hood scene, but the movement of the Beanstalk is very impressive. Special mentions must go to the instructions, once again the highlight both the fan builders and LEGO designers involved. But also delve into the... I absolutely adore this set, the initial idea from fan builders Grant Davis and Jason Allemann, has translated well into the final product.”

About Ideas

The LEGO Ideas theme, which started in 2008 as an offshoot of the Japanese website Cuusoo, then formally known as LEGO Cuusoo, is based around a website which allows users to submit ideas for LEGO products to be turned into potential sets available commercially. If fellow users in the LEGO Ideas community up vote the project to 10000 then LEGO Group has a committee which votes on whether to build the set and release it. If the project is approved and cleared for production, it is developed and later released as an official set under the "LEGO Ideas" banner and the original designer receives 1% of the royalties and a number of free sets. Typically, a few projects are approved a year and most are rejected due to various restrictions.
