232-2 16 Road Signs was a 16 piece System i Leg set released in 1958. It consisted of a number of road signs on white poles and gray bases with multiple patterns. Patterns included Left Turn Prohibited, No Entry / Thoroughfare, No Parking, Triangle Stop, White Arrow Right, Man Crossing, Parking, Yield and many more.

There were different part counts by country. In the USA and Canada 15 signs were included, in Europe and Sweden the set consisted of 16 signs, the UK had only 8 and the Swedish version had yellow road signs instead of the white ones. Based on current trends, this set could be valued near $202 within the next year.
16 Road Signs is an incredibly rare set. Set 232-2 has not been available for sale online or in retail stores in new/good condition for over one year. Boxes in well-preserved condition are considered museum-grade collectibles, representing the very origins of LEGO. Its true market value is likely higher than the current estimate. The last brand new 16 Road Signs was sold on eBay.

About System i Leg Supplemental

Starting in the 1950s LEGO began individual parts sales, a practice that began with the Ferguson Tracktor in 1951. LEGO would supply dealers with wooden parts boxes and refill packs. These individual part sales would continue, at least in some markets, into the late 1950’s.

Supplemental consists of 68 sets that ran from 1955 to 1959. As of today, 214-4 Windows and Doors Retailer Pack is the most valuable Supplemental set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $805.
