Insights

Released long ago and now retired, Goods Station (2720) comes from the late-80s DUPLO Trains era and is sought by a small but persistent collector base, and prolonged retirement with low remake risk has left well-preserved boxed examples relatively scarce while trading on limited liquidity.

Set Facts

It was a pre-school set and is also called "Cargo Centre".
The build focuses on a cargo facility for loading and unloading using large-format DUPLO elements intended for preschool play. It was designed to integrate with other DUPLO Trains sets from the late 1980s to form larger rail scenes.

BrickTrains-Sets

“The Lego 2720 Goods Station is a Duplo Train set. There are a total of 32 pieces, and of those 32 pieces, the set appears to include a train station, crane, and vehicle! You can load up the truck with precious cargo, to transport to the nearby train station and save the day!... More Well, if your day consists of playing with Duplo trains, then yes! This set would make a great addition to any Duplo Train Track.”

About Duplo Trains

DUPLO trains have been part of the range since 1983, when push-along trains and DUPLO track first appeared. Electric trains followed in 1993, with a motor in the locomotive, and since then the line has come back every few years with a new design, a starter set and add-ons such as a station, a bridge, a tunnel and a level crossing. 10874 Steam Train from 2018 brought in coloured action bricks laid on the track, which make the engine stop, sound its horn, turn on its lights or change direction as it passes over them. The trains have also been a way to learn numbers, as in 10558 Number Train, and the 2025 trains are interactive too.

Trains currently consists of 50 sets that as of now has run from 1983 to 2025. As of today, 2741 Electric Train Starter Set is the most valuable Trains set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $489.
