“Now I am somewhat mocking towards the Model, but I did not buy the set for that. To be fair as an impulse it is OK, you get your basic model, a dinosaur, and a MiniFig.”

“The Orient Expedition "minis" are much like this line, only these are better (and harder to come by). The design of the swamp boat is basic, but makes complete sense and looks kind of cool. Plus, you get a propeller plus the rare brown Pterodactyl. Nearly all good.”

About Adventurers Dino Island

Dino Island was an Adventurers subtheme released in 2000 and was based on the story line where the explorers discover a new mysterious island and discover that there are dinosaurs living on the island. Characters/minifigures in the Dino Island theme include Johnny Thunder, Mr. Cunningham, Dr. Charles Lightning, Baron von Barron and many other Adventurers' characters in addition to dinosaurs.

Dino Island was introduced in 2000 and currently consists of 17 sets. As of today, 5987 Dino Research Compound is the most valuable Dino Island set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $564.
