LEGO 602-1 Fire Chief's Car is a Town Classic set released in 1978, containing 29 pieces and 1 minifigure. The set includes a small fire chief car and a fire chief minifigure with a printed torso sticker and a black firefighter helmet. Although it includes a traditional minifigure, the vehicle is not built to minifigure scale and cannot seat the figure. It was one of the first LEGO fire chief car sets to include a standard minifigure and was released in the UK, Europe, and Canada before later appearing in the United States as set 6602 Fire Unit 1 in 1981.

This is a throwback to the original sets that were created in the 1960’s where they were just buildable vehicle and Building sets. The entire concept of the now iconic... The car itself, while compact and adorned with stickers, has a humorous design quirk where the figure can't actually fit inside. About Town Classic

The LEGO Town Classic theme, active from 1978 to 1981, introduced foundational sets that established the urban layout concept in the LEGO world. Notable sets include 1592 Town Square Castle Scene, which combined medieval and modern elements, and 381-2 Police Headquarters, a prominent city infrastructure piece. The 379 Bus Station provided public transport centrality, while 600-2 Police Car offered essential city law enforcement. These sets, among others, played a critical role in defining the classic LEGO town aesthetic.

Classic consists of 45 sets that ran from 1978 to 1981. As of today, 1592 Town Square Castle Scene is the most valuable Classic set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $2,573.
