Brickset
“The whole set is very sturdy and has appealing balloon moon tires, I don’t think this is the first set to have them, but it was a good day when they came on the scene. The hinge attachment is one of the strongest that I’ve come across, and is going to be of good use in... More future creations as will the sample boxes/letter boxes/rubbish bins.”

About Space Classic

Classic Space began in 1978, the same year as the LEGO minifigure, and it was one of the first three themes to use it, along with Castle and Town. The astronauts came in red and white at first, with yellow, black and blue added in the 1980s, all in the same suit with the planet logo on the chest and an air tank on the back. Unlike almost every space line after it, Classic Space had no villains, only explorers with rovers, rockets, lunar bases and grey crater baseplates.

Classic consists of 90 sets that ran from 1978 to 2015. As of today, 926 Command Center is the most valuable Classic set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $4,799.
Summary
Space Classic Sismobile set 6844 was released in February 1983, retailing for $4, but has since been retired. New, unopened Sismobile sets are valued at $202, while used sets can be found for $12.
