“The set features several buildable characters based on enemies from the Mario games. All of those found in this set have previously features in past sets but a couple do offer something a little unique. The Hammer Bro and Boom Boom are exactly the same as they are in other... More sets. But the two Goombas are sporting fancy hats, presumably they have decided to dress up for a fancy afternoon tea onboard the train. There are also two Para-Biddybuds which are uniquely colored for this set.”

The Super Mario Expansion sets expands on the core set, 71360 Adventures with Mario, and provides multiple game options as players will move Mario around levels that they build, collecting coins and stomping on Goombas, Koopas, and Shy Guys as they try to reach the end-of-level flagpole.

Expansion Set was introduced in 2020 and currently consists of 51 sets. As of today, 71401 Luigi's Mansion Haunt-and-Seek is the most valuable Expansion Set set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $124.
