“This was a groundbreaking model at the time, and is still highly sought after by collectors. Bad decisions were made on the original colour scheme, and the wing opening mechanism is very flimsy, but I guess at the time there may not have been the parts available to do it any... More other way.”

I don't regret buying the original even at the inflated price I paid because I didn't know there would be a better option down the line. Now that the updated... More version is here I wouldn't even bother with the old one unless it was back down at the original $150 price point or better. It just doesn't hold up. Figuratively or literally.”

The Ultimate Collector's Series, or UCS, is a LEGO subtheme of Star Wars introduced in 2000 and was meant to be more detailed and aimed at older builders. These Ultimate Collector's Series sets tend to be larger, and more expensive than typical sets.

Ultimate Collector Series was introduced in 2000 and currently consists of 44 sets. As of today, 10143 Death Star II is the most valuable Ultimate Collector Series set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $3,978.
