LEGO 7872 Animal Set is a Creator Promotional set released in 2007, containing 57 pieces. The small build was distributed as a regional newspaper promotion with the Daily Mirror in the United Kingdom in October 2008 and with the Daily Mirror in Ireland. “The "Animal Set" from the Mr. Magorium Creator series, often referred to as a dog, offers a distinctive design that captures the essence of a dog with an intimidating appearance. The color combination of brown and sand is well-received, creating a harmonious and natural look. On the flip side, the innovative use of axles in the design might not appeal to everyone, as it introduces an unusual aesthetic, and the tail's design appears to have been overlooked.”
 

About Creator Promotional

The LEGO Creator theme consists of a variety of subthemes that revolve around sets that focus on buildings, creatures, vehicles, robots and recently more specialized sets such as botanical and even the Chinese New Year. Many of these sets have fallen under the 3-in-1 label which include instructions in a single set to provide multiple alternative models. Originally created in 2001 with a focus on larger bucket sets, the LEGO Creator theme has expanded outside just bricks to later include minifigures.

Promotional was introduced in 2001 and currently consists of 46 sets. As of today, 4278 Large Tub is the most valuable Promotional set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $93.
