“Galidor has become the butt end of a lot of jokes from the AFOL community. We all know it was an attempt by Lego to introduce a radically new system, in conjunction with a T.V. show to advertise the new line. While we know that the product-T.V. show-movie approach would work... More for later themes such as Bionicle, Ninjago, and Chima: Galidor was a major flop.”

“The LEGO Galidor Jens set has some interesting features, like its screen-accurate details and the welding arm attachment that ties into the show. However, the limited articulation in the lower arms and the somewhat goofy head mechanism might not appeal to everyone. It’s an intriguing set, but it may be more niche than universally appealing.”
 

About Galidor

The Galidor was based on the CGI science fiction TV series Galidor from Fox Kids and ABC Family and was released in 2002. Production of the show was partially funded by LEGO, which produced sets to go along with the show. The sets were based on a simplified action-figure structure vaguely similar to BIONICLE. Each Galidor set contained an action figure composed of about a dozen parts, connected by standard pins and featured a "glinching" (a power held by the denizens of the Outer Dimension that enables them to switch analogous limbs with each other) limb-switching ability that formed the core mechanic of the Galidor sets.

Jens: Master of the mechanical!
Jens looks like a mechanical man, but he actually has the brain of one of the Outer Dimension's greatest scientists. Replace any of his arms with his "tool arm," or take Jens apart and put him back together using parts from other Galidor action figures!

Jens is a four-armed robot with the mind of a brilliant, if eccentric, scientist. He's nervous and a little neurosis, and somehow always ‘manages 1o land himself and those around him in danger. But when there’s trouble, you can count on him for be first 1o help. Jens is a master at inventing all sorts of gadgets, and can fix anything by interchanging his. hand with a welding iron.
