LEGO 9713-1 Infrared Transmission Tower is a Mindstorms set released in 1998, containing 2 pieces. This first-generation Mindstorms accessory connected to a computer through a serial port and used infrared signals to transmit programs and commands to the RCX programmable brick. It provided the link between the Mindstorms software and the RCX unit, allowing users to download, test, and debug robot programs. The set was part of the original LEGO Mindstorms system built around the RCX platform.
