“The Lego 122 Locomotive and tender is just a train set without a track, but with the additional battery box attachment. The set contained about 102 pieces including the battery box and the motor itself. Not much to say, then it is a great addition to any train track.”

About Trains 4.5V

The LEGO 4.5V train theme ran from 1966 until 1971 and contained 39 sets in all. The 4.5V trains used to be the voltage standard for the first electric LEGO components where the power came from a battery box with 3x 1.5V batteries.

4.5V consists of 39 sets that ran from 1966 to 1971. As of today, 113-2 Motorized Train Set is the most valuable 4.5V set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $3,785.
