LEGO 60536 City High Speed Electric Passenger Train

LEGO 60536 High Speed Electric Passenger Train is a rumored City set due in January 2027, with an expected retail price of $179.99. It is one of 19 rumored City sets for 2027.

Forecast Model

This represents the expected annual growth (CAGR) based solely on a forecast model.

High Speed Electric Passenger Train is a rumored large train set built around a modern electric passenger train, aimed at the early 2027 City lineup with a big public transit push. Early reports point to it anchoring the same wave that brings the tiny Popcorn Tuk Tuk and Garbage Recycling Truck, so this should be the flagship transport build rather than a small add-on.

Details are based on early reports and may change before LEGO's official announcement.

Collector and Investor Insights

LEGO City trains have usually held up better than standard City vehicles after retirement, especially when a full passenger train anchors the range rather than acting as a side model. A medium-sized modern electric train also benefits from broad display appeal and from the fact that City rail releases are less frequent than police, fire, or construction sets, which tends to support steadier collector demand.

About City Trains

City Trains is LEGO's main train line since 2006, when 7897 Passenger Train and 7898 Cargo Train Deluxe replaced the old 9 V system. The new trains ran on batteries and plastic track, steered by an infrared remote, and the track kept the curves and switch shapes of the old system so layouts could be mixed.

Trains was introduced in 2006 and currently consists of 29 sets. As of today, 7898 Cargo Train Deluxe is the most valuable Trains set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $499.
