“It's a very good set on it's own. Although some parts could have done better. Like some other things with Lego it's two steps forward and one step back. However it's for me almost a perfect set to have, because I really like it's industrial look.”

“I feel this set is a decent starter set for those who are looking for a start in LEGO trains. There is however much to be desired, like a transport truck, a better road to rail connection from the ballast loader, engine light capabilities, for example.”

About City Trains

City Trains is LEGO's main train line since 2006, when 7897 Passenger Train and 7898 Cargo Train Deluxe replaced the old 9 V system. The new trains ran on batteries and plastic track, steered by an infrared remote, and the track kept the curves and switch shapes of the old system so layouts could be mixed.

Trains was introduced in 2006 and currently consists of 29 sets. As of today, 7898 Cargo Train Deluxe is the most valuable Trains set with an estimated new/sealed value of $499.
Summary
City Trains Red Cargo Train set 3677 was released on August 5, 2011, retailing for $160, it has since been retired. New, unopened sets are valued at $422, while used sets sell around $297.
