BrickTrains-Sets
“The Lego 7895 Switching Tracks is a train track accessory for the brand new Lego RC train line. There are eight pieces total, and of those eight pieces, there is the switch track, both point reciprocal to each other, and there are four curved tracks. These tracks are... More slightly different from the 9 volt train line tracks; this one is completely plastic, while the 9 volt line had metal rails. Even with that, the RC will still work on them, but 9 volt trains won’t work on them.”

Brickset
“Basically this set is all about the parts. Switch rails add an extra dimension to any model train, and these are no exception. The switch mechanism is simple and effective. Lego has built in an additional feature, lacking in most model train switches; the switch will... More automatically move when under pressure from a train coming in from the "wrong" side. This feature prevents any derailments, and makes Lego trains a tad more user friendly then other systems.”

About City Trains

City Trains is LEGO's main train line since 2006, when 7897 Passenger Train and 7898 Cargo Train Deluxe replaced the old 9 V system. The new trains ran on batteries and plastic track, steered by an infrared remote, and the track kept the curves and switch shapes of the old system so layouts could be mixed.

Trains was introduced in 2006 and currently consists of 29 sets. As of today, 7898 Cargo Train Deluxe is the most valuable Trains set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $494.
Summary
City Trains Switching Tracks set 7895 was released on October 24, 2007, retailing for $16, it has since been retired. New, unopened sets are valued at $20, while used sets sell around $9.
