Playing with Bricks

“While trains are always a fun set to get, the High-Speed Passenger Train simply doesn't offer the amount of play features that one would expect from a $150 LEGO City set. The build isn't particular exciting (the front and back engines are virtually the same build) and you... More only get a single passenger car (plus only two passengers and a conductor).”

Full review at playingwithbricks.blogspot.com

“This set is fairly easy to assemble, and the battery box, motor and receiver and fairly simple to set up. You may want to have a small screwdriver and some extra AAA batteries on hand. The design is sleeker and more realistic than the previous LEGO Passenger Train. The... More stickers give it more detail, including on the doors. The Way Station is also fairly realistic-looking, although quite small.”

About City Trains

City Trains is LEGO's main train line since 2006, when 7897 Passenger Train and 7898 Cargo Train Deluxe replaced the old 9 V system. The new trains ran on batteries and plastic track, steered by an infrared remote, and the track kept the curves and switch shapes of the old system so layouts could be mixed.

Trains was introduced in 2006 and currently consists of 29 sets. As of today, 7898 Cargo Train Deluxe is the most valuable Trains set with an estimated new/sealed value of $500.

Summary

City Trains High-Speed Passenger Train set 60051 was released on May 27, 2014, retailing for $150, it has since been retired. New, unopened sets are valued at $235, used ones can be found for $125.
