About City Trains

City Trains is LEGO's main train line since 2006, when 7897 Passenger Train and 7898 Cargo Train Deluxe replaced the old 9 V system. The new trains ran on batteries and plastic track, steered by an infrared remote, and the track kept the curves and switch shapes of the old system so layouts could be mixed.

Trains was introduced in 2006 and currently consists of 29 sets. As of today, 7898 Cargo Train Deluxe is the most valuable Trains set with an estimated new/sealed value of $499.
