Small, yet still the blacktron feel — “This set was one of the smaller ones out the original Blacktrons, yet it still has the intimidating Blacktron feel. “The final build comes in at 86 pieces and was the smallest Blacktron set on offer when the subtheme was released. Irrespective of that I believe that the set is a real little gem and would be a great inexpensive stepping stone into the classic space era of LEGO.”

About Space Blacktron

Blacktron was one of the first LEGO Space subthemes along side Futuron and released in 1987. Blacktron was the first truly themed series in Space accompanied with a storyline. It featured a large spacecraft, the Renegade, which set the tone for all future big ships by splitting into a number of smaller modules. The set designs were based around a black and yellow color scheme with transparent yellow windscreens and transparent red highlights.

Blacktron consists of 6 sets that ran from 1987 to 1990. As of today, 6987 Message Intercept Base is the most valuable Blacktron set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $2,063.
