“Design of the Renegade is odd in that it is asymmetrical so I will describe the ship in (pilot's) left and right halves. The right wing of the ship is a narrow wing with a landing/docking structure that holds a one-man hover-jet (there are two of these craft.) These are... More nifty little vehicles with directional thrusters on each side of a pilot's seat, two hand held sticks give the idea of directional steering/control.”

About Space Blacktron

Blacktron was one of the first LEGO Space subthemes along side Futuron and released in 1987. Blacktron was the first truly themed series in Space accompanied with a storyline. It featured a large spacecraft, the Renegade, which set the tone for all future big ships by splitting into a number of smaller modules. The set designs were based around a black and yellow color scheme with transparent yellow windscreens and transparent red highlights.

Blacktron consists of 6 sets that ran from 1987 to 1990. As of today, 6987 Message Intercept Base is the most valuable Blacktron set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $2,179.
