“This is the only Blacktron I set that was released after 1988 and also the last one. It doesn't match the usual Blacktron colorscheme by using white instead of yellow. In this way it seems to echo a transition to Blacktron Future Generation which was introduced in 1991. It... More also starred on a exclusive postcard.”

“Well this is the final set released from Blacktron one. Although it still has the minifig from Blacktron one, it also has Blacktron two colors. Unfortunately, this makes it blend in with neither theme and kind of ruins it. It's still a nice craft and the red pieces are... More always good.”

About Space Blacktron

Blacktron was one of the first LEGO Space subthemes along side Futuron and released in 1987. Blacktron was the first truly themed series in Space accompanied with a storyline. It featured a large spacecraft, the Renegade, which set the tone for all future big ships by splitting into a number of smaller modules. The set designs were based around a black and yellow color scheme with transparent yellow windscreens and transparent red highlights.

Blacktron consists of 6 sets that ran from 1987 to 1990. As of today, 6987 Message Intercept Base is the most valuable Blacktron set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $2,459.
