“He comes with a dark tan backpack and a helmet. He resembles a World War II fighter pilot. His description references the gremlin from The Twilight Zone episode Nightmare at 20,000 Feet.”

“This combat pilot is pretty versatile and could be used in either World War II settings or pairing them up with those vintage combat aircraft. I just got a feeling that this guy could be a flight instructor in the Royal Air Force (RAF). Nevertheless, for someone like me who... More enjoys avionics, then this is absolutely a welcome addition.”

About Minifigure Series Series 3

The Minifigures Series 3 (8803) is the third series of collectable minifigures, released in January 2011 and contained 16 minifigures. The barcodes that allowed buyers to identify the contents of polybags in previous series' were removed, replaced with a system of bump codes to identify the packaging. Each minifigure has its own unique code, which helps collectors figure out what minifigure is in each bag. However, subsequent production batches turned out to feature different bump codes, rendering them unreliable.

Series 3 was introduced in 2011 and currently consists of 19 sets. As of today, Series 3 Sealed Box is the most valuable Series 3 set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $819.
Summary
Minifigure Series Series 3 Pilot set 8803 was released on January 14, 2011, retailing for $3, it has since been retired. New, unopened sets are valued at $8, while used sets sell around $6.

In his day, the Pilot has flown just about everything with wings. Biplanes, triplanes, jetplanes, and seaplanes: he’s piloted them all through every kind of wind and weather, and he’s had all kinds of incredible experiences along the way. He’s discovered long-lost mountaintop civilizations, battled sabotaging gremlins at 20,000 feet, and once he even flew a rocket to Mars to stop an invasion of water-stealing Moon Men.

Yes, the Pilot has led a colorful and exciting life indeed. He’s long-since lost track of how many years he’s been flying, although he definitely gave the Wright brothers some helpful advice at Kitty Hawk in Nineteen-Ought-Three. And if you even think of suggesting retirement, he’ll just chuckle at you with a wink of his eye and a twirl of his elegant moustache, and start the propeller spinning for his next grand flight!
