Each Batman minifigure came with a card. These cards were made to look like a newspaper. The “articles” on the card gave readers information about the Super Heroes Super Challenge Contest. The front of the card had a color picture of the Batman minifigure standing on a yellow brick. The back had a black and white picture of Batman, in front of the San Diego Convention Center.
The front of the newspaper read: "CONGRATULATIONS! SAN DIEGO, CA - You hold in your hand one of a very limited number of preview-edition LEGO SUPER HEROES minifigures. To celebrate the upcoming launch of LEGO SUPER HEROES in January 2012, we want you to make something creative with your super hero minifigure... and you might just win an awesome prize! Turn this card over for more information on getting your adventure started!"
The back of the newspaper card read: "You can make a live-action or stop-motion video, build a scene with your LEGO bricks, fake a photo, or even draw a picture. Then go to www.LEGOSUPERHEROES.com and upload your creation for a chance to win! Each month from August to December, our favorite creative submission will win a prize package including a complete collection of LEGO SUPER HEROES sets and other secret prizes. The head of The World’s Greatest Detective was very similar to previous versions, but he would have a scowling mouth. Batman had lots of... More different colored suits, but this costume set itself apart by adding a lot of detail to the gold utility belt. For the observant collector, they will notice more rounded printing on the torso.”
