The LEGO City Jungle Exploration theme, introduced in 2017, focuses on adventurous expeditions in dense jungle environments. This subtheme features sets that include various exploration vehicles such as helicopters, boats, and off-road trucks, along with detailed jungle landscapes. These landscapes often include ancient ruins, hidden treasures, and exotic animals like tigers, crocodiles, and spiders. The theme is designed to encourage imaginative play centered around exploration and discovery, with minifigures portraying explorers, scientists, and researchers. Sets like the Jungle Mobile Lab, Jungle Air Drop Helicopter, and Jungle Exploration Site are some of the notable sets.

The LEGO City theme is based on city life with the sets depicting city and emergency services, police, fire, airport, train, construction, and civilian services. The City theme proceeded LEGO Town which was replaced with LEGO World City in before it was rebranded as City in 2005.
