LEGO Electronic Control Unit Forward and Stop is a Trains 4.5V set released in 1969. The set includes a black 4.5V electric train whistle with a black base, four banana plug connectors in blue and red, a transparent control block with forward and stop functions, a white 4.5V microphone with vertical plug sockets, and two electric wires for 12V and 4.5V systems. It was designed as an electrical control accessory for early LEGO train layouts using the 4.5V system. This version was the same as set 139-1 Electronic Control Unit (Forward/Backward - Stop).

The LEGO 4.5V train theme ran from 1966 until 1971 and contained 39 sets in all. The 4.5V trains used to be the voltage standard for the first electric LEGO components where the power came from a battery box with 3x 1.5V batteries.
