“40893 Grond looks great, with flames spewing out of his jaws, and suspended on might chains, just like the movie. Grond in the movie is named after Morgoth’s mace, Grond, the Hammer of the Underworld, and that just delights my nerdly little Tolkien heart. The set comes with... More a Mordor Orc, and an Uruk-Hai, but no Gothmog. You’ll have to transfer him out of 10333 Barad-dûr to direct the siege of Minas Tirith.”

“The Grond promotional set works best as a scaled companion piece to Minas Tirith, with a compact build that recreates the wolf-headed battering ram and includes a simple mechanism to swing the suspended ram forward and back. The model itself is fairly minimal and lacks some of the screen presence of the film version, but the shaping and dark color palette still make it recognizable alongside the larger fortress display. The two included orcs reuse existing designs with minor updates, adding a bit of extra value even if the selection feels... More restrained for a launch promotion tied to such a large set.”
