Insights

Limited to a New York Comic-Con lottery release, the BrickHeadz Boba Fett and Han Solo in Carbonite (2017) is an individually numbered convention exclusive whose constrained run and distinctive character pairing have kept sealed examples scarce, and demand among Star Wars and BrickHeadz collectors has remained strong with typical event-exclusives volatility.

Set Facts

These New York Comic Con sets were available for purchase by winners of a pre-convention online lottery at the event, held from October 5 to October 8, 2017, for $40.
Boba Fett and Han Solo in Carbonite are BrickHeadz No. 27 (Boba Fett) and BrickHeadz No. 28 (Han Solo in Carbonite).
Only 5000 were available through a lottery at NYCC.
The set was packaged in a special slipcase / upgraded hard cardboard (rather than standard box) and each box was individually numbered.
This product is a New York Comic-Con retail exclusive, available only at the LEGO Group’s mobile experience during New York’s Comic-Con.
Boba Fett and Han Solo in Carbonite was designed by LEGO designer Marcos Bessa.

The Brothers Brick

“41498 Boba Fett & Han Solo in Carbonite includes 329 pieces, and while it was sold at the event for an already inflated $40, its original price during NYCC frankly doesn’t matter... Nevertheless, I personally really like the concept — they’re adorable! — even though I’m not... More driven to collect the ever-increasing array of LEGO characters and line them up on a shelf somewhere.”

BrickFanatics

“41629 Boba Fett is not the first iteration of the notorious bounty hunter as an exclusive version. 41498 Boba Fett & Han Solo in Carbonite was available at New York Comic Con in 2017. Such exclusives are a nightmare for fans and collectors who can’t attend such events,... More always commanding extortionate aftermarket prices. Thankfully fans can rest easy in the knowledge that 41629 is actually an improvement over the previous release.”
