Insights

Released in the early 1980s and long retired, Rescue Helicopter (set 6626) is a classic Town micro-scale release whose limited surviving sealed supply supports higher collectibility, and its tiny, minifigure-free build plus a commonly reused helicopter theme keeps demand narrow and price swings pronounced.

Set Facts

It is a small rescue helicopter, not compatible with minifigures.
This is the US version of the European set 626-2 Red Cross Helicopter from 1978.
The helicopter is not minifigure compatible.
The Red Cross is a registered trademark of the International Movement of the Red Cross and Red Crescent.
As an early Classic Town aircraft, it reflects the pre-minifigure-scale proportions common to late 1970s and early 1980s pocket sets.

The Rambling Brick

“Of interest was the layering technique used with the 1×2 and 2×2 bricks, overlapping to provide of strength. The transparent elements have crazed a little over the years, increasing in opacity. this is to be expected. There are a number of elements that are no longer... More available, including a number of elements in (old) light grey.”
