“A truly brilliant set which captures all that is great about Classic Space. A worthy addition to any collection. The transporter vehicle itself is magnificent. The articulated rocket placement arm and clamp are a great step forward from 897.”

“Large vehicle with new big tires and independent suspension with computers, radar dish for tracking, and a jointed arm for placing a large rocket. Twin yellow spacemen. Most epic of all the rocket launchers. Much larger than 1978’s Mobile Rocket Launcher (462). The color... More scheme harkens back to the earliest Space sets.”

About Space Classic

Classic Space began in 1978, the same year as the LEGO minifigure, and it was one of the first three themes to use it, along with Castle and Town. The astronauts came in red and white at first, with yellow, black and blue added in the 1980s, all in the same suit with the planet logo on the chest and an air tank on the back. Unlike almost every space line after it, Classic Space had no villains, only explorers with rovers, rockets, lunar bases and grey crater baseplates.

Classic consists of 90 sets that ran from 1978 to 2015. As of today, 926 Command Center is the most valuable Classic set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $4,799.
Summary
Space Classic Mobile Rocket Transport set 6950 was released in January 1982, retailing for $13, but has since been retired. New, unopened Mobile Rocket Transport sets are valued at $878, while used sets can be found for $103.
