“The Lego 7863 Remote Controlled Point Motor 12v, is a replacement to the 7859: Remote Controlled Points Left 12 V, 7860: Remote Controlled Signal 12 V, and 7861: Lighting Set Electric 12 V if they ever get broken. The set includes 7 pieces, one being the actual controller,... More and other being the wires and box. This would make a good addition to any set if any of the controllers broke.”

“For push-along and 4.5V train sets, LEGO offered a single set 7852 containing 2 manually controlled points. For 12V trains, the buyer had several options. LEGO offered top-range single right (7858) and left (7859) points with remote controllers. Alternatively, you could buy... More set 7856 that contained a left and a right manually controlled 12V points.”

About Trains 4.5V / 12V

4512V covers the LEGO trains of the 4.5 V and 12 V systems from the 1970s and 1980s. The 4.5 V trains ran on batteries carried in a wagon or tender, while the 12 V trains drew power from conductor rails laid between the running rails, fed by a transformer with a speed control. Until 1980 the track was blue, which gave these years the name of the Blue Era.

4.5V / 12V consists of 83 sets that ran from 1972 to 1986. As of today, 7750 Steam Engine with Tender is the most valuable 4.5V / 12V set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $6,368.
