“The Lego 7858 Remote Controlled Point Right 12v is a re-release of its 753: Right hand automatic point, but unlike the other re-release sets, they improved upon it. They have two different buttons, instead of the one button from the 753. By pressing these buttons, you are... More changing the track’s position to either go left or right. The color scheme did not come out blue in this form, but grey. The set includes 12 pieces, one being the switch track, and the others are the controls and wires.”

“The grey era came with a great number of track options and accessories. Most were released in 1980, including this set 7858. The grey era came with a single design for points (or railway switch), in which one single track branches off, and starts running parallel with, the... More main track. This design came in left (branching off to the left) and right (branching off to the right) versions.”

About Trains 4.5V / 12V

In 1972 LEGO released the 4.5V and 12V train sets as part of the Blue Era which was named because of the rail color. These train sets used additional conductor rails mounted between the standard 4.5V rails and 12V motors contained in the same housings as the 4.5V motors, but with additional metal contacts attached to the bottom of the housings.

4.5V / 12V consists of 83 sets that ran from 1972 to 1986. As of today, 7750 Steam Engine with Tender is the most valuable 4.5V / 12V set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $6,296.
