Brickipedia
“It contains an engine and two passenger express cars, which have a white roof, a yellow bottom, and a blue middle. It also has a buildable train station where passengers board the train. In this set, there are five Minifigures: A male driver in the engine; a male conductor... More on the station; a male passenger on the station; and two female passengers in the express coaches.”

Brickset
Nice little starter set — “This set is a basic entry into the grey era train system. Especially the locomotive is really basic, while the two passenger cars are nice and offer good playability. When the new system was introduced in 1980, this was the smallest train starter set available. But this... More doesn't mean that it was cheap - the price was within the range of bigger technic sets like the Unimog 8848.”

About Trains 4.5V / 12V

4512V covers the LEGO trains of the 4.5 V and 12 V systems from the 1970s and 1980s. The 4.5 V trains ran on batteries carried in a wagon or tender, while the 12 V trains drew power from conductor rails laid between the running rails, fed by a transformer with a speed control. Until 1980 the track was blue, which gave these years the name of the Blue Era.

4.5V / 12V consists of 83 sets that ran from 1972 to 1986. As of today, 7750 Steam Engine with Tender is the most valuable 4.5V / 12V set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $6,368.
