A great building — “I think that this set is underrated. Maybe because the selling period was rather short. Strange enough, there are no conducting rails, which means you had to buy one additional set 7854 to make 12v trains run on it. And because of the bridge, the station is limited to only... More one lane. I guess that this was the main raison to develop another railway station for 1983.”

“The Lego 7822 Railway Station is a huge set, and is worthy of that name. This is a really big set, with a number of 384 pieces, one of the biggest Lego structures of the time. Of those 384 pieces, the set came with three minifigures, two workers, and one passenger. The Set... More is compatible with any 4.5/9 volt train set, you would just have to change the gray tracks blue if you want to keep the 4.5 volt theme consistent.”

About Trains 4.5V / 12V

In 1972 LEGO released the 4.5V and 12V train sets as part of the Blue Era which was named because of the rail color. These train sets used additional conductor rails mounted between the standard 4.5V rails and 12V motors contained in the same housings as the 4.5V motors, but with additional metal contacts attached to the bottom of the housings.

4.5V / 12V consists of 83 sets that ran from 1972 to 1986. As of today, 7750 Steam Engine with Tender is the most valuable 4.5V / 12V set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $7,186.
