“The Lego 7859 Remote Controlled Points left 12v is a re-release of its 754 Left hand automatic point but unlike the other re-release sets, they improved upon it. They have two different buttons, instead of the one button from the 754. By pressing these buttons, you are... More changing the track’s position to either go left or right. The color scheme did not come out blue in this form, but grey. The set includes 12 pieces, one being the switch track, and the others are the controls and wires.”

“This design came in left (branching off to the left) and right (branching off to the right) versions. This set 7859 contains a single left points suitable for 12V train sets. The points in this set are controlled remotely through a controller powered by the 7864 transformer.... More The set also comes with the required sleeper plates, including a shorter 2x6 sleeper plate to fit the curved part of the points.”

About Trains 4.5V / 12V

In 1972 LEGO released the 4.5V and 12V train sets as part of the Blue Era which was named because of the rail color. These train sets used additional conductor rails mounted between the standard 4.5V rails and 12V motors contained in the same housings as the 4.5V motors, but with additional metal contacts attached to the bottom of the housings.

4.5V / 12V consists of 83 sets that ran from 1972 to 1986. As of today, 7730 Electric Goods Train Set is the most valuable 4.5V / 12V set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $5,400.
