“The Lego 7859 Remote Controlled Points left 12v is a re-release of its 754 Left hand automatic point but unlike the other re-release sets, they improved upon it. They have two different buttons, instead of the one button from the 754. By pressing these buttons, you are... More changing the track’s position to either go left or right. The color scheme did not come out blue in this form, but grey. The set includes 12 pieces, one being the switch track, and the others are the controls and wires.”

“This design came in left (branching off to the left) and right (branching off to the right) versions. This set 7859 contains a single left points suitable for 12V train sets. The points in this set are controlled remotely through a controller powered by the 7864 transformer.... More The set also comes with the required sleeper plates, including a shorter 2x6 sleeper plate to fit the curved part of the points.”

About Trains 4.5V / 12V

4512V covers the LEGO trains of the 4.5 V and 12 V systems from the 1970s and 1980s. The 4.5 V trains ran on batteries carried in a wagon or tender, while the 12 V trains drew power from conductor rails laid between the running rails, fed by a transformer with a speed control. Until 1980 the track was blue, which gave these years the name of the Blue Era.

4.5V / 12V consists of 83 sets that ran from 1972 to 1986. As of today, 7750 Steam Engine with Tender is the most valuable 4.5V / 12V set with an estimated new/sealed value of $6,368.

Building models is fun. Playing trains is fun too. With LEGO Railways you do both, so that’s double fun. And you can build LEGO people inside the carriages, just like they ought 10 be. You can have everything from an Electric inter-city express to a Battery train or even a push-along one. The new LEGO transformer/controller gives all the excitement of remote controlled points and signal lights. And the whole system is designed so that you can convert locomotives and rails from battery to electric whenever you want.
