The set builds a large railway station with a café, ticket office, waiting room, telephone, post box, and a raised signal box, with the waiting area covered by an angled canopy. Additional elements include a luggage buggy and a printed clock tile, and the model is built on standard baseplates without a crossover staircase. It appeared in LEGO catalogs from 1983 through 1990, and production variants are known, including early and later part changes as well as two box versions: a wide rectangular box from 1983 and a standard rectangular box from 1989.

Others had an extremely long selling period until the end of 1990. This railway station belongs to the second category. Like its predecessor, it is... More also huge, but the style is different. It is built on standard baseplates, and there is no stairs crossover. There are quite some new parts, compared to 1980. The buggy is the same as in set 7727, just built in another color. And there are nine minifigs, what is a big improvement compared to 7822.”

About Trains 4.5V / 12V

In 1972 LEGO released the 4.5V and 12V train sets as part of the Blue Era which was named because of the rail color. These train sets used additional conductor rails mounted between the standard 4.5V rails and 12V motors contained in the same housings as the 4.5V motors, but with additional metal contacts attached to the bottom of the housings.

4.5V / 12V consists of 83 sets that ran from 1972 to 1986. As of today, 7750 Steam Engine with Tender is the most valuable 4.5V / 12V set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $6,957.
