“The Lego 7867 4 lights standard Electric 12v is a light post that actually works, then just for decoration. Like I said in the 7824: Railway Station review, those lights on either sides, don’t turn on, they really have no other purpose there then for decoration, but this is... More the exact opposite, it has an application, is to light the train tracks at night so the Train conductor can see better, and let other people see better. This set will really brighten the night in Legoland and in your own living room.”

“The grey era came with a great number of track options and accessories. Most of them were released in 1980 and were available all the way to 1990, but not this set, which was available from 1983 to 1990. In addition to 7861, this set was intended to light up your track. It... More contains four light bricks and four light posts. The design of the light posts is identical to the light post in set 7821 which was released in the same year.”

About Trains 4.5V / 12V

4512V covers the LEGO trains of the 4.5 V and 12 V systems from the 1970s and 1980s. The 4.5 V trains ran on batteries carried in a wagon or tender, while the 12 V trains drew power from conductor rails laid between the running rails, fed by a transformer with a speed control. Until 1980 the track was blue, which gave these years the name of the Blue Era.

4.5V / 12V consists of 83 sets that ran from 1972 to 1986. As of today, 7750 Steam Engine with Tender is the most valuable 4.5V / 12V set with an estimated new/sealed value of $6,368.
Summary
