Daniel August Krentz Designed LEGO Sets

Daniel August Krentz (1937–2016) was a pioneering LEGO designer whose work significantly shaped the company's product lines from the mid-1970s until his retirement in 2000. Born in Colorado, USA, Krentz discovered LEGO bricks during his college years in the 1960s and began creating impressive models that caught the attention of Samsonite, the U.S. distributor of LEGO at the time. His creations were used as display models to boost sales, leading to his recruitment by The LEGO Group as a set designer in Billund, Denmark. Krentz holds the distinction of being the first LEGO designer hired from the fan community and the first from outside Denmark.
