Brickset
“This is a great introduction to Technic. This set has a small number of pieces and is inexpensive. The theory of operation (where a dial operates the crane from a horizontal to a vertical position), is easy to understand for beginners, because there is a limited number of... More moving parts, and they are all visible, so the user can see what is going on behind the scenes as they operate the dial.”

BrickEconomy Member Review
“The LEGO Technic Cherry Picker (42031) is a fantastic entry-level set, perfect for beginners exploring the world of Technic. With a small number of pieces, the build is straightforward yet educational, offering a clear view of how the moving parts operate. Though compact, it provides a smooth, easy-to-use mechanism, and its reusability as both a Cherry Picker and a Tow Truck adds extra value.”
