Insights

A Bricktober promotional tied to a single Toys R Us distribution window, Space Adventure Ride (2022) draws on Classic Space nostalgia with a unique-styled torso and display-friendly design, creating constrained supply and solid collector interest, and while aftermarket demand is real it can be volatile.

Brick Fanatics

“In addition, the box for each LEGO Bricktober set includes separate instruction sheets for constructing the base and the ride, so that two builders can make their own models before combining them into one. Rounding out the themed sets are a comic activity sheet for kids to... More complete, with blank speech balloons for younger LEGO fans to create their own stories.”

True North Bricks

“In terms of design, the base of the Space Adventure Ride is identical to that of the Pirate Adventure Ride. It uses the same internal slider and crank mechanism to operate the ride. Additionally, you find the same coin box, stairs, and printed LEGO® logo tile. Once again,... More similar to the Pirate Adventure Ride, this set includes one generic looking Minifigure with a smiley face. However, once again, the character has the short, moving legs that I love. Any ride where Minifigures have to sit should include these or normal Minifigure legs.”

About Toys R Us

The LEGO Toys R Us theme sets were produced in collaboration with Toys R Us and were usually exclusive to their stores. Over the years, various exclusive sets or promotions were made available only through Toys R Us, often aligning with special events, holidays, or movie releases. These exclusive sets covered a range of LEGO themes and were sought after by collectors and fans due to their limited availability. It's worth noting that while certain sets started as Toys R Us exclusives, some eventually became available through other retailers or directly from LEGO.

Toys R Us consists of 52 sets that ran from 2012 to 2024. As of today, 5004938 NINJAGO Minifigure Collection is the most valuable Toys R Us set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $397.
